South Burnett Verdelho is widely considered to be some of the finest in Australia (and the world for that matter) and this is a stunning example of why. Young, vibrant and aromatic, the bouquet leaps from the glass with lifted citrus, passion fruit and melon notes. Fresh and fruity on the palate, with a crisp dry finish, this is a flagship Verdelho for the region. Will mellow with age, so drink young, or – if you can resist long enough – let it develop more subtle, complex characters anywhere until 2019. Best matched with fresh Moreton Bay bugs, or barbecued chilli prawns. Will appeal to drinkers of Sauvignon Blanc while young, and Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio as it ages. Terrific value!
