Sangiovese is an exciting style that is rapidly becoming a favourite with vintners in the region, this Mediterranean grape is perfectly suited to the South Burnett. A Tuscan variety, Sangiovese – literal translation is the dramatic “Blood of Gods” – is hugely popular in Italy (this is the grape variety used to make Chianti and the wildly popular, so-called “Super Tuscan” wines), but a niche varietal here in Australia. Sangiovese is lighter in body, savoury, dry and fruit driven, and can be served either at room temperature or chilled. The perfect all-rounder and a great food wine. Satisfy your curiosity today. This example is a mixed vintage of predominately oak matured 2009 vintage, with subtle additions of 2013 and 2015 fruit to lift and balance the palette. Delivered with solid oak integration and a more robust alcohol content (14.9%) than previous releases, this vintage is more in keeping with the traditional Tuscan style.
Kingsley Grove deliver true “Estate Grown” wines, where the wines are produced entirely at the estate.
